West Nile Virus (WNV) is responsible for West Nile Fever, a viral infection typically spread by mosquito bites. The infection is generally asymptomatic  but can cause meningitis and encephalitis in immunocompromised patients and older people. WNV detection by using a molecular method is crucial to quickly establish an early diagnosis of a West Nile Virus infection.

WNV ELITe MGB® Kit is a one step, reverse-transcription and real-time PCR assay for the detection and quantification of WNV genomic RNA. The assay is CE-IVD validated on a large range of sample types with diverse conventional extraction and PCR systems.
