Transplant Pathogen Monitoring


Hepatitis E (HEV) is an increasing cause of liver infection worldwide, and is generally asymptomatic or sometimes associated with severe symptoms, similar to those observed with hepatitis A. After solid organ transplantation, patients treated with immunosuppressive drugs are especially at high risk of developing HEV infection. Hepatitis E detection by molecular methods is important to diagnose and identify acute and chronic infections.


Hepatitis E ELITe MGB® Kit is a real-time PCR assay designed for the detection of Hepatitis E virus belonging to 1, 2, 3, 3 and 4 genotypes. The assay is intended to be used for research-use-only applications (RUO) and has been tested in combination with ELITe InGenius®, a fully automated sample-to-result solution.
