Human herpes virus 6 (HHV6) is a common virus acquired during the first few years of life, and is able to induce serious complications after transplantation. John Cunningham Virus (JCV) is a widespread, asymptomatic polyomavirus sharing high homology with BK virus and establishing latency in the kidney. JCV reactivation, after hematopoietic stem cell or solid organ transplantation, is associated with numerous infections of the central nervous system. JCV viral load testing is important to monitor and prevent such complications in transplant patients.

EBV ELITe MGB® Kit

Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) is a widespread herpesvirus, generally asymptomatic or sometimes responsible for mild infection like mononucleosis. After solid organ or hematopoietic stem cell transplant, EBV reactivation is a common cause of malignant transformation, called Post-Transplant Lymphoproliferative Disorder “PTLD”. EBV viral load monitoring is important to diagnose, and monitor such complications which are cared for by reducing the patient immunosuppressive treatment.
