Respiratory Bacterial PLUS ELITe MGB® Kit

Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Chlamydia pneumoniae, Chlamydia psittaci, Legionella pneumophila and other Legionella species (such as Legionella longbeachae) are common bacteria involved in respiratory infections, and are responsible for severe complications, especially in immunocompromised patients. Respiratory infections often present with similar, nonspecific symptoms that make it difficult to distinguish the underlying pathogen. Molecular methods are the most efficient solutions to identify the right pathogen and provide an adapted patient treatment.

The product Respiratory Bacterial PLUS ELITe MGB® Kit is a qualitative multiplex Real-Time PCR assay designed for the detection and identification of the genomic DNA of Legionella pneumophila, Legionella spp., Chlamydia pneumoniae, Chlamydia psittaci and Mycoplasma pneumoniae extracted from clinical specimens. The assay is validated in association with the ELITe InGenius® and ELITe BeGenius® instruments, automated and integrated systems for extraction, Real-Time PCR and results interpretation, using human specimens of Broncho-Alveolar Lavage (BAL) / Bronchial Aspirate (BA).
