CMV ELITe MGB Kit

Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is a highly prevalent herpesvirus in the general population and represents a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in immunocompromised patients. Reactivation of latent CMV following solid organ or hematopoietic stem cell transplantation may result in diverse and potentially severe infections.

The detection and quantification of DNA of CMV especially by Real Time PCR is essential for patients management in order to determine efficiency of anti-viral treatment. CMV ELITe MGB^® Kit is a real-time PCR assay, designed for the detection and quantification of CMV DNA extracted from clinical specimens.

The assay is validated for use with ELITe InGenius^® and ELITe BeGenius^® instruments for plasma, cerebrospinal fluid, urine, buccal swab, amniotic fluid, bronchoalveolar lavage, and bronchial aspirate matrices, and with the MyGenius PRO^® instrument for whole blood.

The assay is also validated with the ELITe GALAXY and QIAsymphony SP/AS automated extraction and PCR set-up systems and 7500 Fast Dx Real-Time PCR Instrument, using whole blood.
