Co-infection assessment with detection, identification, enumeration and susceptibility testing of urogenital mycoplasmas
The Complement MYCOFAST® RevolutioN 2 kits contains MYCOFAST RevolutioN 2 trays only. They are colorimetric assays designed for identification, enumeration at pathological thresholds and susceptibility testing to worldwide recommended antibiotics and their concentrations for Ureaplasma urealyticum / Ureaplasma parvum (U.u.) and Mycoplasma hominis (M.h.). With wells containing inhibitors of each strains, the product is optimized for management of co-infection situations. With results in 24 hours, the samples can be AMIES medium (inoculated with UMMt AMIES RevolutioN) urine, sperm or urethral/cervicovaginal swabs (inoculated with UMMt RevolutioN). Enumeration and antibiotic susceptibility according to worldwide recommendations from the CLSI (Clinical and Laboratory Standard Institute).
The Complement MYCOFAST® RevolutioN 2 is designed to be used after a MYCOFAST® Screening RevolutioN positive test. Samples for both procedures may be stored in UMMt AMIES RevolutioN or UMMt RevolutioN transport mediums for 56 hours at 2-8°C.

Principle
MYCOFAST® RevolutioN 2 identifies U.u. and M.h. growth after 24 hours of incubation in a liquid medium. During growth, U.u. and M.h. metabolize urea and arginine respectively resulting in a color change of the medium from yellow-orange to red. Mycoplasma growth thus viewed enables:
- Enumeration of mycoplasma at pathological thresholds: U.u at 103,104 and 105 CCU/ml and M.h at 104 CCU/ml
- Susceptibility testing to 6 antibiotics at specific concentrations compliant with worldwide recommendations: Doxycycline, Levofloxacin, Moxifloxacin, Erythromycin, Clindamycin, Tetracyclin.
Easy-to-read and easy-to-interpret results
The results are read by the color obtained in the different wells. Urogenital mycoplasma growth is indicated when the medium turns red (alkaline). The medium remains yellow when no growth of urogenital mycoplasma occurs.
OPTIONAL : MYCOPLASMA Stabilizer (REF. 00064) – prolong up to 72 hours the storage time.
