ELITechGroup Microbiology is pleased to announce that a recent study published in the Journal of Clinical Microbiology (DOI: 10.1128/jcm.00179-25) confirms the strong performance of the serological assays ELI.H.A Amoeba and ELITex Bicolor Amoeba, designed for the diagnosis of Entamoeba histolytica for amoebiasis infections.
This evaluation compared four commercial assays across 429 serum samples. Results showed that ELI.H.A Amoeba achieved the highest overall accuracy (97.4%), while ELITex Bicolor Amoeba demonstrated the highest specificity (98.6%) with results available in under five minutes.
The study highlights that the combination of both ELITechGroup assays provides an optimal “screen + confirm” workflow for the reliable diagnosis of amoebic liver abscess, offering laboratories robust, accessible, and standardized tools in a field where few validated solutions remain available.
