Area Sales Manager, Clinical Chemistry – Africa Middle-East

We are looking for an experienced energetic Area Sales Manager to manage the existing distributor relationships with great value in Africa and the Middle East and to execute and develop sales strategies for targeting new prospects in the region. Knowledge of the In-Vitro-Diagnostics (IVD) is needed with a preference for Clinical Chemistry. This role will require a minimum of 5+ years of sales and/or account management experience and traveling up to 50%. This is a single contributor role within the international distributor sales management team of five people operating in a cross-functional organization. An independent proactive performance is expected with consent to align the strategic regional plans with the ELITechGroup Clinical Chemistry business unit. This role will preferably be based in Europe with employee contract in either France, The Benelux, Italy, or UK.

Purpose of the job:

Develop and manage sales and all sales-related activities in the assigned geographic area by servicing existing Channel Partners (Distributors) and targeting new prospects.

The area Sales Manager reports to the Vice President Global Sales.

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Develop and execute business plans in the assigned geographic area
  • Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies in the assigned geographic area
  • Act as the driving force in maintaining the distributor relationships
  • Provide the distributors with all information, sales tools, and training
  • Author and execute sales strategies aligned with the strategy of the whole Clinical Chemistry business unit
  • Participate in tradeshows as needed to represent and promote the company
  • Gather market and distributor-specific information in order to understand product demands and trends
  • Contribute to and perform satisfaction evaluations in the assigned geographic area (distributor and/or end-customer)
  • Manage CRM platforms and lead generation follow-up


  • Extensive knowledge of the In-Vitro-Diagnostics (IVD) distributed through a channel partner network; distributors
  • Knowledge of the Clinical Chemistry preferred
  • Sales or account management experience required 5+ years
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, also French language skills are preferred
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications and able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Proactive, energetic person who is goal-oriented, and success-driven with distributor relationship management skills
  • Ability to work independently but willing to align and discuss his/her plans within the group
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree
  • Required traveling up to 50%
