Human herpes virus 8 (HHV8) is an oncogenic virus highly prevalent in Mediterranean and Sub-Saharian countries. Latent reactivation of HHV8 after solid organ transplantation, especially after kidney transplantation, can generate a life-threatening skin cancer called ‘Kaposi sarcoma’. HHV8 detection and quantification is crucial for patient management in order to provide, as soon as possible, a specific anticancer treatment and discontinue immunosuppressive therapies.

HHV8 ELITe MGB® Kit is a real-time PCR assay designed for the detection and quantification of human herpes virus 8 DNA. The assay is CE-IVD validated on different sample types, in combination with ELITe InGenius®, a fully automated sample-to-result solution.
