Superpolymyxin™

Culture medium for the detection and isolation of Polymyxin-resistant bacteria strains

The SuperPolymyxin™ is a new selective culture medium for the early detection and isolation of Gram-negative bacteria with a reduced susceptibility to polymyxins. It was specially formulated to avoid swarming of Proteus spp. and to prevent contamination by Gram-positive bacteria and Fungi. The SuperPolymyxin will open new perspectives compared to the existing culture media containing high concentrations of colistin and which are known for screening intrinsic PR bacterial species (such as Serratia marcescens and Burkholderia cepacia) but are not adapted for screening isolates with acquired PR that may be of a low level.

  • Screening medium aimed to detect any Polymyxin-Resistant bacteria regardless of its resistance mechanism and of its level
  • Specially formulated to avoid swarming of Proteus spp. (naturally resistant) and to prevent contamination by Gram-positive bacteria and fungi
  • Critical in human medicine for detecting carriers and containing outbreaks due to resistant isolates
  • Useful in veterinary medicine for surveillance surveys
  • Easy to perform and highly sensitive

The MYCOFAST® RevolutioN is an accurate, cost-effective, easy-to-use colorimetric assay designed for the detection, enumeration, identification and antibiotic susceptibility determination of Ureaplasma urealyticum (U.u.) and Mycoplasma hominis (M.h.) from urogenital specimens.

The MYCOFAST® RevolutioN enables labs to determine susceptibility to a panel of new antibiotics, helping physicians comply with the latest therapeutic guidelines from CLSI (Clinical Laboratories Standards Institute). The addition of the MYCOFAST® RevolutioN expands ELITech’s family of mycoplasma test solutions, offering the most extensive antibiotic susceptibility determination at key clinical end-points.

  • All-in-one test
  • Antibiotics FULLY compliant with new worldwide recommendations
  • Fast results for clinicians, available within 24 hours
  • Visual colorimetric method, without expert interpretation
  • Specimen preserved up to 72 hours before analysis
  • Ready to use reagents, “all-liquid method”
  • New closing system for secure operation
  • Results in accordance with pathological ratios

Featuring ready-to-use reagents and an “all liquid” method, MYCOFAST® RevolutioN identifies the growth of U.u. and M.h. after 24 hours of incubation. Our exclusive growth activator, the M.h. Supplement, guarantees fast and accurate results.
Moreover, MYCOFAST® RevolutioN enables the enumeration of U.u.  > 103 UCC/mL which is compliant with pathological thresholds recognized for sperm and urine samples.

Finally, the new UMMt RevolutioN transport medium enables optimized sample management by preserving specimen integrity up to 72 hours.

MYCOFAST® Screening RevolutioN – Complement MYCOFAST® RevolutioN

Detection, enumeration, identification and complete antimicrobial susceptibility testing of urogenital mycoplasma: SCREENING METHOD

The MYCOFAST® Screening RevolutioN kit and its Complement MYCOFAST® RevolutioN enable a complete diagnosis in 2 steps for urogenital mycoplasma diagnosis in various clinical specimens. It’s an accurate, cost-effective, easy-to-use colorimetric assay designed for the detection, enumeration, identification and antibiotic susceptibility determination of Ureaplasma urealyticum (U.u.) and Mycoplasma hominis (M.h.) from urogenital specimens.

The MYCOFAST® Screening approach provides the same results than with the direct method (MYCOFAST® RevolutioN) but in an additional 24/48 hours. It can be chosen for economic reasons sometimes, or to reduce operation time on negative specimens.

The screening step (MYCOFAST® Screening RevolutioN) allows the detection and differentiation of U.u. and M.h. after 24/48 hours of incubation. In case of a positive result, the second step (Complement MYCOFAST® RevolutioN) will provide further information.

  • Complete diagnosis in a two-phase approach
  • Antibiotics FULLY compliant with new worldwide recommendations
  • Cost-effective screening in 24 hours
  • Visual colorimetric method, without expert interpretation
  • Specimen preserved up to 72 hours before analysis
