INTEDED USE: Semi-quantitative detection of anti-streptolysin O antibodies (ASLO) from human serum after an incubation of 20 minutes

CHARACTERISTICS: Reaction carried out in a tray (2 tests per tray)
Increasing concentration of dehydrated streptolysin for determination of the antibody concentration; no need for serial dilution
Lyophylized reducer (single use vial)
Positive and negative controls included in the tray
Sheep erythrocytes available separately

PRINCIPLE: Detection of anti-streptolysin O antibodies based upon the neutralization of the streptolysin O heamolytic activity by antibodies present in the test serum.
Immunological complexes revealed by the addition of a suspension of sheep erythrocytes.
Visual reading (hemolysis or absence of hemolysis of red blood cells)

PERFORMANCE: The comparative study was carried out between the previous ASO-BAR test (Technique Biologique):
Sensitivity: 95,2%, Specificity: 98,7%, PPV: 97,5% et NPV: 97,5%
95% of agreement for a titre within 1 dilution
And the ASL-Kit (Biomérieux):
Sensibility: 97,1%, Specificity: 94,5%, PPV: 87,1% et NPV: 98,8%
97% of agreement for a titre within 1 dilution
